Arizona State guard DJ Horne wasn’t in the starting lineup for the Sun Devils Saturday night. With the team in Pullman to take on Washington State, Alonzo Gaffney drew a start in place of Horne.

Horne was not on the bench for ASU, nor was he in the arena for the game. ESPN’s Roxy Bernstein said on the game broadcast that Horne has been suspended for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

Horne entered Saturday’s contest as the Sun Devils’ second-leading scorer. But after playing 34 minutes in the loss to UCLA on Jan. 19, he’s played a combined 32 minutes in the two contests since.

He was held scoreless in 17 minutes in the loss to USC and then mustered just three points in 15 minutes in the overtime loss to Washington this past Thursday.

During Arizona State’s current three-game losing streak, Horne has struggled on the offensive end. He’s shooting 24% from the field (5-for-21) and 17% from 3-point range (2-for-12) with five assists to eight turnovers.

Horne was a preseason all-conference pick for ASU. The other, Marcus Bagley, hasn’t been with the team since November.
