Arizona State is a three-point underdog for its matchup with Stanford this Saturday.

Opening point spreads and game totals for Week 8 action throughout college football were released by Circa Sports on Sunday, and the Sun Devils (2-4, 1-2 Pac-12) opened as a slight road dog. They travel to Stanford Stadium to battle the Cardinal (2-4, 0-4 Pac-12) at 1 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Network. The over/under in the game is set at 56.5.

Arizona State is 3-3 against the spread this season, while Stanford is 2-4. The over has hit in two of ASU’s games and four of Stanford’s.

The Sun Devils are coming off a bye week, but the last time we saw them on the field they were knocking off then-No. 21 Washington 45-38 at home. That effort included a standout performance from backup quarterback Trenton Bourguet, who threw for three touchdowns to lead ASU to victory after starter Emory Jones was knocked out of the game.

ASU’s coaches didn’t exactly shut down the notion of a quarterback competition reigniting, but interim coach Shaun Aguano said he doesn’t generally like to see players lose their job because of an injury. Aguano said Jones was in concussion protocol last week. We’ll see how he progresses this week.

Other Week 8 Pac-12 lines:

  • Oregon -5 vs. UCLA (O/U 69.5.5)
  • Washington -8 at California (O/U 57.5)
  • Oregon State -22 vs. Colorado (O/U 51.5)
