Arizona State tackle Isaia Glass announced on social media Sunday night that he plans to sit out the remainder of the 2023 season to retain the year as a redshirt, then enter the transfer portal.

“I want to thank Arizona State University and all the staff for the opportunities that were given to me,” he wrote. “Unfortunately that chapter in my life has come to a close. Moving forward, I’ll be looking for my best opportunity to finish out my college career.”

Glass will have two years of eligibility remaining. As of publication, he has already been removed from the team’s online roster.

The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman from San Tan Valley appeared in six games as a reserve option in 2021. As a sophomore in 2022, he started all 12 games for ASU.

This season, Glass has battled injuries that have limited him to three games. He has primarily served as ASU’s left tackle, where he logged just shy of 200 snaps and gave up only six quarterback pressures. Among the 11 ASU linemen to see at least 30 snaps this season, Glass has the third-worst blocking grade from Pro Football Focus.

Freshman Sean Na’a started in place of Glass against Utah on Saturday after spending the majority of his time this year at guard.

ASU faces UCLA at the Rose Bowl next Saturday.
