Arizona State just added some size to its defensive line. Rather, some more size.

The Sun Devils figure to have a nasty front seven in 2022, and on Friday added a bit more nasty in the form of 6-foot-5, 310-pound defensive lineman Brandon McElroy.

“My JUCO experience has been a long, stressful journey with ups and downs. Starting my journey as a walk-on, I never thought I’d be where I am today, and looking back from where I started, I’m proud of who I’ve become over these past two years,” he wrote in a post shared on social media.

McElroy arrives at ASU via the junior college ranks after spending time at Glendale (Calif.) Community College. He prepped at Pasadena (Calif.) John Muir but played basketball during his four years of high school. It wasn’t until he got to the JUCO level that he switched to football.

He’ll have three years to play two with the Sun Devils. According to Devils Digest, he’s slated to arrive on campus later in July. You can view his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
