Arizona State lands commitment from elite LB out of Louisiana
Arizona State made a major addition in the class of 2024 on Sunday afternoon.
The Sun Devils earned a commitment from 3-star linebacker Albert Smith III. A Louisiana native, Smith had offers from programs like Missouri and Baylor before committing to ASU.

Smith is the No. 868 overall player and the No. 78 linebacker in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 25 player from the state of Louisiana.
He attends Ponchatoula High School in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds.
Arizona State is off to an excellent start in the class of 2024. The Sun Devils have 5 commitments so far in this class. The group ranks No. 36 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Smith is the second defensive commitment to join Arizona State’s 2024 class so far.
