Arizona State has already begun fall camp, but on Sunday it added one more piece to the 2022 offensive line.

Danny Valenzuela, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound interior offensive lineman, announced his commitment to the Sun Devils. According to Sun Devil Source, Valenzuela is joining the program as an immediate qualifier with three years of eligibility.

A center for College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California, Valenzuela gives the Sun Devils a bit more depth on the interior of the offensive line.

With just 12 scholarship players to open camp, ASU is thin across the board. Of the six linemen who saw at least 100 snaps as a blocker last year, four have since exited the program. As a result, the Sun Devils hit the portal hard for reinforcements up front. Chris Martinez comes over from San Diego State, along with Des Holmes (Penn State), Joey Ramos (Iowa State), and Emmit Bohle (Northern State, D2).

Ben Scott is expected to emerge as the team’s new starting center, but Valenzuela could prove helpful nonetheless.
