Arizona State added one more transfer to the 2023 crop of newcomers on Saturday.

Former Ole Miss defensive back Roman Rashada — the older brother of freshman ASU quarterback Jaden Rashada — announced his commitment to ASU. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Rashada entered the transfer portal shortly after the 2022 regular season concluded, a campaign that never afforded him an opportunity to see the field.

Rashada has two years of eligibility remaining.

Rashada was a 3-star junior college recruit in the 2022 class after spending time at Diablo Valley College in California. He appeared in six games for the Vikings, recording 12 tackles, two sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble.

He’s the sixth offseason addition for Arizona State’s secondary this cycle. As a recruit, 247Sports had Rashada listed as a corner, though he played safety and nickel for Diablo Valley. Ole Miss had him listed as a safety on the team roster. We’ll see where ASU’s coaching staff views him as being able to best contribute.
