Arizona State picked up a key commitment in the class of 2024 on Tuesday.

The Sun Devils landed a pledge from 3-star safety Martell Hughes. He had offers from several other Pac-12 programs, including Arizona, Cal and Washington State.

Here’s his announcement:

Hughes is a major addition for the Sun Devils. He’s the No. 104 safety and the No. 85 player from the state of California in the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He attends Madison High School in San Diego, California. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds.

Hughes took an official visit to Arizona State last month. He also took trips to Arizona, Washington State and Cal prior to making this decision.

Arizona State now has 15 commits in the class of 2024. Hughes is the 3rd defensive back to join ASU’s class so far this cycle. The group is in the top 50 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
