Arizona State entered the record books on Saturday. The Sun Devils beat UCLA 2-1 to secure a spot in the Pac-12 baseball Tournament, but that wasn’t the only great thing about the win.

Arizona State’s win over UCLA was the 3,000th victory for the program. This is something that not every college baseball program can say they’ve done.

The game was a very close affair that probably had Sun Devils fans feeling very nervous. Ryan Campos tied the game at 1-1 with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. He smashed the ball over the center field fence.

Another solo shot would come in the eighth inning with two outs from Nick McLain to break the tie and give Arizona State the lead. His homer landed in the UCLA bullpen after he crushed it over left field.

After beating the Bruins the Sun Devils will finish out the regular season with a 31-22 record. Arizona State’s conference record was 16-13.

There are still games left to be played in the Pac-12 before all of the matchups for the Pac-12 baseball Tournament are set. Fans will still have to wait and see what team their Sun Devils will face, but it’s nice to end the regular season on a high note.
